Happy Memorial Day, everyone. And consider this a “Salute” to all the soldiers and their families that gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the armed forces for this great nation. When I was a child, this holiday was called “Decoration Day”. American Flags would be flying on everyone’s porch, there’d be a parade in the city, and families had picnics and enjoyed one another’s company. Ahhhh…those were the good ‘ol days. I guess I’m lucky to be here. My dad saw active duty in the European Theatre, and was wounded by shrapnel while under attack by the enemy. He had a battle scar right under his chin, on his neck. RIP Dad. You’re one of my heros…my favorite hero to be exact.
