Saturday is Rugby Day
Saturday is Rugby Day! It is. Today we drove down the NYS Thruway to exit 17 and a little town called New Windsor. My daughter’s rugby team called the Sirens played a game against a new team called the Rebels. The pitch was pretty muddy….but other than that, it was a beautiful day…the sun was shining, and it had to be 70 degrees. The Sirens won, and three girls from the Rebels ended up going to the hospital. One of the girls with a concussion, the other with a broken ankle maybe, and the third one went to have her foot checked. Not good.
The girls went to the drink up after the game for some food and beverages, compliments of the home team. Hubby and I couldn’t go because we had Katie’s little rat terrier with us. That was fine by me, because there was another game after the women’s. The men 🙂 I like watching the men play. They’re really fast. It’s a wild game to watch. If I were 20 30 years younger, rugby would be my game.
We didn’t stay long at the men’s game….so back in the car and up the river we went. Poor little Uncas was dog tired. He slept pretty much the whole way home.
