Halloween Party and You’re Invited!
Vanessa is once again sponsoring a Halloween Party over at A Fanciful Twist. I don’t think I’ll be posting my own party, but I sure as heck will be attending hers. Why not go over and check out the announcement and see if you’d be interested in participating!
Viva Las Vegastamps is having a blog hop
Why not hop on over and see what’s happening? I’m entering this card in Day 2′s challenge to use one of their stamps on a Halloween project and link up to their site by Friday.
I’ve said it before…I normally don’t buy over the internet….so in August, when we were in Las Vegas…I stopped by Viva Las Vegastamps and bought several rubber stamps. I’ve never seen so many rubber stamps in one place!!! I could have spent hours there…but my hubby and sister were with me
The gal working did tell me to feel free and call if I’d like to place an order…that I didn’t have to order over the net. Wasn’t that nice of her? I’ll probably take her up on her offer one of these days. Anyhow….hop on over and check out their online store…I promise that you’ll be in awe.
In keeping with the Halloween theme…I’ll leave you with a picture of our very own black cat. His name is Bear…because that’s what he looked like to me when he was little. I thought about changing his name to Shadow because he was always by his mama’s side
I thank you for stopping by, and until next time…..Peace.
Happy Fall Ya’ll!
Boy, time flies! There’s nothing much happening in this neck of the woods; but I’m not complaining. I’ve put up some Halloween decorations….and played Suzie Homemaker the other day….Our three tomato plants have yielded enough tomatoes for a dutch oven size batch of meat sauce…that’s in addition to passing out tomatoes to the neighbors and family members. Lets see… We traveled with friends to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire for the annual Seafood Festival …plus I’ve been pittering and puttering in my craft room…a card here and there…and an ATC or two….along with a few pages in my art journal. Woah! I take that back! I have been kinda busy
I look forward to the annual trip to the beach. It’s always held the week after Labor Day…it signifies the beginning of the Fall season for us. Always a good time. I am so grateful for our friends…a great bunch of folks.
I went to AC Moore today with a 55% off coupon and bought a Sizzix Big Kick. I’ve been wanting the Vagabond…but I refuse to pay $200. I was told that pretty much the only difference between the two is an electric plug. I hope so. The $46 price tag was the deciding factor. I’m going back tomorrow for some die cut cartridges….with another 55% off coupon. *does a happy dance*
Here’s a montage of things I’ve recently created:
First…here are the ATC’s I’ve sent off for the Retro Cafe Art Gallery swap:
I’ve also sent a Halloween ATC off as a swap to my new facebook friend, Denise in Canada:
I finished a spread in my Art Journal that I started a month ago. I love Stampotique stamps:
I’ve also started several more pages:
I’ve entered the Retro Cafe Art Gallery’s facebook page Halloween challenge to use their free digital sheet in a project. May I present “Poe’s The Raven”:
Guess I’ll close with a few of the cards I’ve made:
Had enough? Haha…..I won’t torture you anymore
I thank you for stopping by, and until next time…..Peace
A follow up post to my Mad Tea Party
I just wanted to share what I gave to my little guest who played Alice at my recent Mad Tea Party. Her fourth birthday was a few weeks ago and I was invited to the celebration.
Is that adorable, or what? I recently participated in Debrina Pratt’s first online workshop, and made a similar tin. Rather than using Debrina’s image, I substituted my own. I just think it’s the cutest project ever.
I also made the little Alice a photo book in memory of the occasion:

Because the Mad Tea Party was held in my backyard…and my “flower garden” is there, I’m going to link to the Altered Alice challenge for the month of September:
Week 1, CHAPTER 19: Lovely Garden and Bright Flowers
“…she tried the little golden key in the lock, and to her great delight it fitted! Alice opened the door and found that it led into a small passage, not much larger than a rat-hole: she knelt down and looked along the passage into the loveliest garden you ever saw. How she longed to get out of that dark hall, and wander about among those beds of bright flowers and those cool fountains, but she could not even get her head though the doorway; `and even if my head would go through,’ thought poor Alice, `it would be of very little use without my shoulders.”– Chapter 1, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Your challenge this month is Garden and/or Flowers! Enter your creations by Friday, September 28, 2012. Multiple entries are allowed, but to count as a separate entry each must be on its own blog post. All entries are welcome, but projects that feature Wonderland will have two chances at the drawing instead of one.
The winner will receive 3 digi images from The Stamping Boutique, which has a wonderful Alice in Wonderland line we will be sharing with you! Tracey Malnoski is the owner and illustrator, and she has previously designed stamps for Unity, InStyle, Squigglefly, and The Digi Shack. Her Stamping Boutique has it all: digital images, red rubber stamps, and themes that include fairytale, whimsy, sentimental, and candy. Please visit the Storeand their wonderful Challenge Blog!
Life in General
Seems like I fell off the face of the earth….or maybe just down the rabbit hole into Wonderland…doesn’t it? I didn’t really. I’ve just been living my life. My husband, my sister and I recently took a two week vacation out west. We flew in and out of Las Vegas, Nevada…and took a ride in between. A three thousand mile ride, that is. After spending the first night in Las Vegas, we took off for Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lake, Mono Lake, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Carson City, Virginia City, Salt Lake City and several National Parks and Monuments in Utah. Being a “visual” person….I had my fill of natural wonder and beauty that the United States holds in these areas. Here, let me bore you with some pictures
I’ll talk to you later…when I have more time. I’m off to Saratoga Park for our annual Labor Day picnic. Thanks for dropping by, and until next time…..Peace.
Welcome to my Mad Tea Party!
Today’s Mad Tea Party is sponsored by Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist! If you haven’t already visited her site, I highly suggest that you do! You’re in for a real treat. It’s a magical place…truly.
Welcome….I’m so glad you could make it.
You didn’t you get your invitation? I’m so sorry…it must have gotten lost in the mail. No matter…you’re here, and that’s all that really matters.
The Mad Hatter is having a tea party …and today’s the day!
He’s brought out the best china! Funny, I had a set just like that when I was a little girl!
Oh look….a garden fairy is going to show us the way. Let’s follow her lead….this way, please
What a lovely day for a Mad Tea Party, don’t you think?
Through the garden gate. Oh my…it does look a wee bit overgrown now, doesn’t it?
Through the black eyed susans, coneflowers, past the california poppies and lupines
Oh, hello…..not far now you say? What a pretty peony and the zinnias are a delightful sight
My oh my…it looks like everyone is already here! You could say that we’re fashionably late
Hello Alice….You’re looking very pretty in your yellow sundress.
Squeek!
Oh dear! How did you get in there, little Dormouse?
Would you like some tea?
I’d be happy to pour some for you.
But first, let’s try on some party hats, shall we?
There you go, March Hare…have a cuppa if you please
Pink Tea and cakes…isn’t this a wonderful party?
Tell me Mad Hatter…what is it with that pinky finger, anyway?
And such is how my Mad Tea Party went today. I hope you had a good time….I thank you for stopping by. Alice would like me to thank you for attending, and asked that I convey that message to you on her behalf….because poor wee little Alice, she’s just too pooped to pop!
If you’re late (like the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland), and would like to attend more Mad Tea Parties…”hop” on over to Vanessa’s weblog. Go to the comments, and you’ll see links from everyone having a party today!
Thank you for stopping by my Mad Tea Party…and until next time….Peace
Tea anyone?
I hope you didn’t forget about the Mad Tea Party being hosted by Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist! It’s happening this Saturday. I just took a peek on the left side of her homepage…and there are more than ONE HUNDRED Mad Tea parties happening!!! Wow! I can’t wait to visit them all….we’ll see how my party stamina holds up!
If you happen to be visiting long after all of the Mad Tea Parties are over….not to worry! If you follow this {{link)}} to the Mad Tea Party post…scroll to the bottom of the page and scan the comments. Everyone throwing their own party is supposed to post a link to their blog so that late comers know where to go.
Soooooooooo….don’t forget!
In the meantime…thought I’d share my most recent creation. A mixed media piece (inspired by Christy Tomlinson) that I’ve given to my daughter. I found the words to the poem as I was going through some old papers. I remember liking the poem years ago….sorry, I don’t know the author. I’m so glad I found that little slip of paper. They’re perfect for this project. The roller skating girl is a stamp by Suziblu.
I’m feeling a little melancholy today. It was on July 25, 1987 that my dad passed away….I can’t believe it’s been twenty five years….wow. My mom passed away in May of 2000…..she lived thirteen years without the love of her life. Together again:
I miss them in my life, but take comfort in my faith that I’ll be seeing them again.
I thank you for stopping by….and until next time….Peace.
