Hope everyone out there had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. My family and I spent the day at my sister’s house, with her family.

The thing I am most grateful for is there in the picture…my family. We might not always get along…but family is number one in my book.
In my last post, I gave ya’ll a sneak peek at my next project, a glass block purchased from the local big box hardware store. Well, I worked on it, and I’m pleased at how it turned out. I gave the inside a coat of Mod Podge, and included some silver tinsel when I added the set of 50 miniature white lights to the block. I Mod Podged the outside too, and added some sparkly Martha Stewart glitter. On top of that coating, I glued on three large glittery snowflakes that I found at the dollar store. I love the dollar store! That’s also where I got the white ribbon that I tied around the block and into a bow. The little star and reindeer came from Target. And here it is…the final project:

It looks sweet, doesn’t it? I think I’m going to make a few more. It really was easy to do.
I made a few inchies with a Christmas/winter theme:

I really need to get a move on with my printers drawer. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to go with the Christmas theme. I’ve gotten as far as cutting out the papers that will go inside each little cubby hole. Here’s what it looks like at the moment:

Tomorrow we’re going to the tree farm and cut down our Christmas trees. This has to be the earliest ever! Until next time….Peace.

Just thought I would check in. Not much going on in this neck of the woods. Hubby and I went for a ride yesterday, to a little shop up in the country. I bought a few ornaments for our Christmas tree, and a few tiny items for the printers drawer I bought several months back (that I haven’t done anything with). I think I’ve decided to alter the drawer with Christmas Holiday papers and embellishments…although I haven’t started working on it…but that’s my intention, anyway. After we visited the little shop, we had lunch at a diner where hubby ordered a dinner, and I had breakfast
I don’t know what it is about going to a “diner”…but everytime I do, I order breakfast.
Hubby enjoys the ride up to the country as much as I do. Actually, it’s his “country”…the little town is where his family is from. It’s a quaint little village plopped in the middle of FarmVille…where they have a tractor store on Main Street

All of the homes are well taken care of

and you can cross a creek in a covered bridge ![]()

I told you in my last post about Sarah Whitmire, a mixed media artist who inspired me to pick up my Book of Me and add a few pages. Here’s a link to her Prompts If you’re stuck…why not stop by and see what inspiration flows for you. Here’s what I did this weekend:

…and a sneak preview of my next project

I bought the glass block at Loew’s…and I didn’t have to drill the hole…it’s specially made for crafts. I plan on altering it, and giving it as a gift to someone for Christmas.
It’s after 11pm here…so I’m going to sign off. Until next time….Peace

It’s November 8th already….can you believe it?? Thanksgiving Day will be here before we know it, and then the Christmas Holiday Season comes along. Geesh…sometimes I just wish I could dig my heels in, and slow down the days.
I realized that I never posted pictures of the kitchen remodel we had done. The project is finished, and for the most part, I’m very satisfied. I’m somewhat disappointed in the spackle/tape/paint job. To come in and look at it, you probably wouldn’t notice what I do. At certain times of the day though, when I look at certain areas…the sanding job after spots were patched, leaves a lot to be desired.
Just before the job was started:

Just after the contractor finished:

We still haven’t hung curtains, and put everything back in it’s place…but for the most part..it’s done. *phew*
You probably haven’t noticed, but I’ve added a few more links over there, on the right side of my homepage. I’ve been bitten by the mixed media bug…lol. I’ve found several websites that I’ve gone back to, time and again. My desire to “alter” things has probably driven this urge to do more.
One of the links is to Sarah Whitmore’s blog, a wonderfully talented woman…and although I had sort of started a “book about me”, her blog has inspired me to pick up where I left off, and actually add some pages. Granted, there isn’t anything on these pages…but at least I’ve created some…and for that, I thank her.

That’s it for now….until next time….Peace.
