Two weekends in a row…
Two posts in the same day…fancy that! I’ll be making this short, anyway….I just want to post my pretend entry into the Papercrafts Gallery Idol…next round. Check it out.
Initially, I wanted to make a greeting card from a transparency…but it didn’t turn out quite the way I had envisioned it. I’ll share it anyway.

So here’s my entry for round three:

I thought I’d share the cards we made today in the class I took at my local rubberstamp store, Stampassion.

I’m not showing them closeup because I’m not too too happy with them. I felt rushed to complete them..so I ended up being a little sloppy. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t actually rushed…I just felt that way. Jenn Shurkus was great, as were my fellow students. I bought a few of the A*Muse stamps we used…along with a few new kewl tools….a pinpoint roller glue pen…and a Quicker Poker Picker Upper. Stampassion gives a 10% discount on purchases of all items used during class on class day. I think that’s a nice gesture.
I’m signing off…but I’ll be back tomorrow…..with my pretend entry in the Papercrafts Gallery Idol entry….this week’s round: Buttons.
Until next time….Peace
Signed…Foxy

Sunday July 12
I don’t think this has ever happened before….two posts in one day! Over the last few days, my husband, my daughter, and the dog, have all been stung by bees. All three stings happened in the same are of our backyard. Friday afternoon, I had noticed more than the usual number of bees flying about…so I stood up on our deck, and began watching them. Sure enough…they had started a nest in the ground!

My husband got the pitchfork out, and quickly turned over the sod. After they calmed down a bit, he started spraying some hornet spray at them and the hole in the ground. I was brave enough to take a picture or two from up on the deck. The bee in the middle is flying…I believe the two on each side are dead.

Besides the ornery bees….there are some pretty flowers blooming at the moment. Some are perennials…the others are annuals:

Okay…enough of the flowers…. Here’s my pretend entry for the Gallery Idol Challenge that’s due tomorrow. The round calls for a card that incorporates items from Around the House. I stamped the image onto glossy cardstock and used my Marvy brush markers to color it. You can’t tell from the photo, but I used pop dots on three of the sunflowers to give the image some depth. I think the mesh behind the cardstock looks like window screen..don’t you?

Hmmm….I seem to be an awful lot of stamping lately, have you noticed?
